Eagle software does not have a pre-set default library path. When you first launch Eagle, the system will guide you to select an appropriate location to create your library. Each library is a folder with a .library
suffix, such as "Inspiration Library.library".
Library Location Restrictions
To protect your data security, Eagle does not allow creating or storing libraries in the following locations by default:
- System Desktop
- Downloads folder
These restrictions are in place to prevent libraries from being accidentally deleted or moved.
Recovering Lost Libraries
If Eagle cannot find your library, it may be because:
- The library file has been moved to another location
- The library path has been modified
- The library file was accidentally deleted
You can try the following methods to recover your library:
- Check your computer's recycle bin to confirm whether the library file was accidentally deleted
- Search for the keyword
.library
in File Explorer to look for possible existing library files - After finding the library, it is recommended to move it to a stable and secure location to avoid losing it again
Important Notes
- The library is where Eagle stores all materials and data, please keep it safe
- It is recommended to regularly backup your library to prevent data loss
