Eagle Storage Limits and File Processing Capabilities Explanation

Eagle, as a local resource management application, has its storage capacity primarily limited by the available space on your device. Understanding the software's performance boundaries can help you manage your materials more efficiently and achieve a smooth user experience.

Storage Limit Factors

Eagle's performance is primarily affected by the following factors:

  • Computer hardware configuration
  • Total number of images in the library
  • Total number of tags
  • Total number of folders (relatively minor impact)

Recommended Storage Limits

  • Official recommended limit: A single library should not exceed 250,000 files to maintain a good operational experience
  • High-performance device limit: If your computer and storage devices have high performance, you can handle libraries with up to 500,000 files

Performance Considerations

As the amount of data in your library increases, please note the following:

  • The software will consume more system resources when reading and rendering
  • Device operations may become slower, and in severe cases, may cause system lag
  • Similar to storing large amounts of files in a file manager, search and usage efficiency will decrease

Optimization Recommendations

If your material count exceeds the recommended values, we suggest taking the following measures:

  • Split libraries by material type, for example:

  • Dedicated library for documents

  • Dedicated library for images

  • Dedicated library for videos

  • Regular backups: Regardless of where data is stored, data loss may occur due to hard drive, system, or other issues. Please regularly back up your library data
