Interface - Inspector

The inspector on the right of Eagle allows you to view properties of the selected image, there are two tabs namely  “Category” and "Selection" that shows different informations respectively. Various properties can also be edited in the Inspector, for example, "title", "URL", "tag" and etc.


In the Selection tab, the status varies depending  on the items selected, there are three common statuses:   "No Selection", "Single Selection", "Multiple Selection". The following are the overview of respective items:


When you're in the Detail View mode where you cannot drag the image, the thumbnail in the Inspector can be dragged and dropped for instant usage. 

Color Analysis

The color analysis feature comes in handy when you want to search images with the similar color scheme. Various Color Swatches can be found under the thumbnail of the image.

  • Right-click on the "Color Swatch" to search images with the similar color swatch.
  • Left-click on the "Color Swatch" to open a dropdown menu, with the option to "Copy the color code" and "Set as Primary Color". 


Display the title of the currently selected image, double-click the title box to edit/rename the image.


Add  "Tags" to  images with this function, allowing for easier search afterwards. You can click the tag box to "Create", "Add", "remove", "Search" tags. For more information, please see here.

Display the source URL of the image, clicking on the button could open up the website.

Current Category

Display the folder where the image belongs to. Press  "+" could also sort images under multiple categories.


  • Rating
    Rate your images by pressing numpad 1-5, the rating could serve as filter conditions for latter usage, you can use the "filter" function to search for images of a specific rating, you can find more information here.
  • Dimensions
  • Size
  • Type
  • Date


The Inspector will display the information of the current folder.  

Folder Name

Display the current folder's name, and you can double-click folder name to rename it.


If you want to take some notes for the folder, you can click the "Description" box to note down your thoughts.

  • Password Protection
    If you wish the file / folders to be locked or protected from peeking, you can set a password for the folder. Once set, you'll need to enter the password when opening the folder. For more information, please see here.

Export the Folder

If you want to share images with your friends or teammates, you can export the selected folder as an "Eagle package" or export it to your computer so you can easily share your images. Click for details.
