What's the difference between smart folder and regular folder?

The Smart folder is a kind of folder with special features. Unlike regular folders, the smart folder will filter all images in Eagle according to the conditions you provide, and collect pictures that meet these conditions automatically. once the conditions are set, the smart folder will also filter images afterwards, so you won't have to update the folder manually.

With this feature, we can sort images way more efficiently, let's try out!

Create a smart folder

  1. Find the "+" button left to the "smart folder" tab on the sidebar.
  2. Enter the smart folder name and filter conditions in the popup window.
  3. Click "Create Folder" to finish

After the smart folder is created, Eagle will show images that meet the conditions you specified. As shown at the following sample:

Usage scenario

  • Creation time
Filter images by create time. e.g.: "Images saved yesterday", "Images saved from 2017-07-01 to 2017-07-15", "Images saved in 2016".
  • Color
Filter images by color. you can switch between the  "almost the same" or "similar" color filters to your needs.

  • Tags
Filter images by tag. Filtering multiple tags is also possible. With this condition, you can create folders like "Adorable", "Banners".

Usage

We have listed various conditions above, now we can combine these conditions to fit our needs. Let's say we want to make a quick category of "Red", "Banners", we can set our filter conditions using "color" and "tags"
